Cons: poor accessories
modest midrange without specific accents
dull, academic presentation of the material
April. What are your associations with it? March cats licking their wounds from hormonal battles; taking advantage of this, birds start their polyphonic trills to the delight of melancholics and the sadness of insomniacs; leather jackets, sunglasses, first skirts and pretty high-heeled girls. It's spring! The air is saturated with the first freshness, still modestly piercing the thickness of receptors departing from the winter coma, everything around wakes up and begins to breathe in the rhythm of the city and nature. A great companion in such a time and mood can be seen in the heroes of our today's review - Kiwiears Singolo IEM.

Accessories

Our kiwi-birds are presented in a simple but nice cardboard package. Under the outer jacket we are met by a quality box, which contains a rather modest delivery set: the IEMs themselves, a thin 2-core cable made of silver-plated copper, two sets of eartips. To be honest, the cable and the eartips were put on the principle of “that'll do”. Of course they are not KZ-style, but not far from them, alas. The exterioк box makes much more impression than the set itself. You've met by your clothes, but it's too early to send you off...

1714228197121.png

Design, fit, usage

We are faced with very compact, comfortable in hands and ears earphones. And concerning the accessories, it's already a step forward. Pleasant shimmers of Fire-bird's tail on the dark faceplates - blue, blue, yellow, brown; transparent case for curious fidgeters; lightness, dimensions, quality of joints - all of the Singolo's kind. The design is calm, but you can get stuck on it, especially in the sunlight or other extrior lights. Or just explore the insides, clearly visible through the transparent shell.

1714228230590.png

The fit in the ears is excellent and unnoticeable, passive noise isolation is at 4.5 out of 5 even in the subway trains. And this is with barely formed anatomic shells, that's excellent and unusual! They fit perfectly!

The nozzle has a well marked edge, the eartips won't get lost, the diameter is medium, suitable for the use of most tips. Compensation hole is present at the outlet of the acoustic resonator housing. There is no vacuum effect, driver-flex or other unpleasant issues.

A special mention should be made for the 2pin connector of this paricular pair of the IEM: disconnecting cables in the left channel can be done only by Archimedes if there is a fulcrum, however, it is a matter of time, patience and strength. The audiophile must suffer (c).

1714228251476.png

But as it is easy to guess the most interesting thing is under this transparent hood and is not hidden from prying eyes and spring heightened consciousness.
The manufacturer proposed a new-fashioned scheme of 11 mm dynamic radiator with LCP diaphragm of its own tuning and Kiwi acoustic resonance system (KARS).

It's high time for wonders and discoveries, my tiny explorers:

KARS is not a gimmick – it is a discrete band-pass filter that manipulates airflow to the driver, regulating low frequency output. This patented innovation features an elaborate labyrinth tubing network that has been designed after numerous scientific and physical models to perfectly calculate the appropriate resonance point for the Singolo’s driver. KARS makes a tight sub-bass shelf possible; something that has been previously impossible in a single-driver IEM. The bass quality, quantity, and texture are all incomparable to any other tuning strategy used in a similar driver format.
Unlike traditional crossover networks that uses multiple drivers with RC (resistor-capacitor) networks, KARS instead uses Helmholtz resonance to regulate its tuning. Airflow to a dynamic driver regulates how much the diaphragm can respond, but also requires additional calculations of flow rate, direction, and volume. KARS allows exact regulation of this airflow to manipulate the sound as we desire. While capacitors and resistors provide a calculated means of crossover solutions, they also add unwanted artifacts to the sound in the form of distortion, especially when cheap SMD components are used.
With KARS, the sound you are hearing is directly from the driver itself, which translates into a pure and higher resolving audio experience without the hindrance of passive electrical components. KARS also eliminates the need for driver venting meshes, which has been traditionally used to regulate airflow into drivers. These meshes have low tolerances, causing unit-variances, as well as weak durability. KARS’ precise engineering eliminates this potential for imbalances and delivers a uniform sound in every unit.
The specific length, dimensions, and right-angled corners of KARS had to be scientifically calculated and tested to control the sub-bass shelf. KARS is precisely 3D-printed with a 1.0 micron precision. The labyrinth regulates airflow to the rear of the dynamic driver chamber, tightly controlling the back pressure to the diaphragm. This achieves two things simultaneously - it accurately regulates the sub-bass and bass response, and it also regulates pressure ventilation within your ear, which allows more comfortable and pressure-free listening. Finally, KARS allows a calculated removal of rear wave reflections from the driver, reducing wave cancellation and creating a higher quality sound.

You know, just like another “Kiwi wins. Flawless victory". Let's see whether we face the "audiality" at the end of round two.....

Characteristics

Drivers - 11 mm dynamic LCP, KARS resonator system
Sensitivity - 108 dB/mW
Frequency range - 20 Hz - 20 kHz
Impedance - 32 ohms
Cable - 0.78 mm 2pin silver-plated copper, 2 conductors

Sound

Sources (3.5 mm output):

- Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (CS47L93);
- Abigail DAC (CX31993);
- Zishan DSD DAP (AK4495) mode;
- Kiwiears Allegro DAC (ES9028Q2M).

Tests were done with audiosense s400 and tri clarion eartips, with which Singolos showed an excellent level of sound, noise isolation and comfort. The IEM are not tight, despite the 32 Ohm impedance, with a player is naturally better at the edges of the range, for better disclosure is necessary to get at least a simple USB-C DAC, they sound without problems but even by a smartphone.

The sound profile was created in cooperation with a well-known representative of the audio reviewing community - Crinacle, which is reflected in the name of the model.

1714229766344.png

Bass

Singolos can be characterized by a decent elaboration of the lower range of the spectrum. Both the sub and mid-bass zones flow smoothly from each other, showing a decent level both quantitatively and qualitatively. The character is not bass-heady at all, but the sub has an excellent depth and delineation in moderate volume. Transition to the mid is merged, no rumbles and extraneous noises, bass guitar is fast, attacks and punch are characterized by a balance of detail and pressure. I'dlike specially note the lower bass, as it pleasantly tickles the eardrums, as for me - the classic dynamic presentation, that's we like it for!

Mids

The transition to the middle is seamless. The lower mid is of medium density, which allows you to get away from any turbidity in this area, without losing in solidity. The cellos seem to float in the air, the lowest registers of the instrument are moderately prescribed, there are as many of them as necessary, without excess or lack, with well-drawn overtones and layering. The contrabass won't take your breath away, just good. The violins are lively but not shouty, the pitch is natural and calm. Leading guitar growls, neither mean, nor Teddy-plush like a Labrador in a bull terrier mask.
Legs won't dance, that's not what iIEM are about. The vocal part of the spectrum can't be distinguished in any definite way with regadrding the performer's gender, it is also average, bright high female vocals will be a bit more intimate than in reality, while low male voices are presented with some lack of mass and energy. The placement of the vocals relative to the instruments is on the one level in the stage. The upper mids and sibilant zone is comfortable for extended listening and seems to be below average to my sensitive ear. No rubbing, whistling and other perverted fantasies of a misanthropic speech therapist. In general, the mids are not starry, but at the same time not sagging and not pushed back at all.

Highs

It's an interesting effect of the resonator's work, or just tuning of the classical DD, but the high frequencies pleased with their purity and clarity. You won't see lush tails here, everything is simple but clean, such a bright room with a cosmetic repair and a clean wide window lit by the spring sunshine. Drum attacks are clear, cymbals scatter in a pleasant rustle. On fast genres a slight muddiness and mushiness is possible. Relaxed character is more evident here, which does not spoil the general perception of upper frequencies and, in general, the whole musical canvas. The detailing is above average, I have no special complaints.

The subjective stage has a circular shape, with a parity in depth and width. A little euphoria from the separation of instruments is guaranteed. The pitch is smooth, safe, academic, with a hint of volume and air both between instruments and vocals, and in general when rendering the virtual stage. I don't know how to explain it, but you can clearly feel this layering between individual musical elements and images. Everything is smooth and good when analyzing private aspects of sound, without blockages and prevalence of any range, and in general there is an effect of presence and some kind of volumetric depth with division into echelons and this very “air”.

In summary

Singolo is an average iem by all means, but it surprisingly combines modest individual characteristics and particularities in a common merged and pleasant picture, not straining at long listening distances.

1714231066827.png

I would recommend it for classical, instrumental and medium vocal oriented music, light rock, jazz and funk; not for any extreme speed and overloaded styles. Although...listen to everything and relax, it will definitely work with Singolo!

I would like to express my gratitude to #Linsoul for providing the iem for the review!

Thanks for your attention! Stay tuned =)

With my favorite music in my ears, today it's presented in my ears by the devices newly to my perception and experience. I haven’t done business with Tinhifi before, although I had an interest on the T3plus model, but didn’t dare to get it. And now my chance has found me, thanks to the people from the always cool sea and from the no-less harsh mainland, where at -28 C one just opens the second serving of an ice cream.
So, today our ears and receptors are captivated by small frozen drops of Martian coal lava - Tinhifi T5s a.k.a. Mars.

Presentation, packaging, equipment

This piece of meteorite came to me in a cover stylized after Bradbury’s stories and a double high-quality box: it’s good that Greta is not a space tourist yet, right?
1707893145277.jpeg

Waiting for us in the box:

the iems themselves in the cradle;
faux-leather semi-hard case;
a set of nozzle spare meshes;
tweezers;
cleaning brush;
a set of ear pads for every taste and color:
3 pairs of a la Sony/Audiosense GT40s eartips;
3 pairs of black silicones;
1 pair of white foam tips.
1707893499495.jpeg

1707893427144.jpeg
1707893445501.jpeg

The case is worth mentioning in particular - a nice white parallelepiped made of young leatherette leather, with quite good capacity. When your GF by mistake finds the case to be a potential rival’s cosmetic bag, you will have to admit that her name is Audiophilia! (Just don’t tell me the price of all our toys, not all the experiences at once)

1707893632741.jpeg

In the depths of the package we also surely find a high-quality adamantium cable, 28 strands of enameled copper with a diameter of 0.06 mm and 54 strands of silver-plated copper with a diameter of 0.05 mm, which ensures overload of sound receptors up to centrifugal values of 3.5g and a higher level of quality sound.

2-pin connectors provide a reliable connection, and the overall twisted-pair structure optimizes signal transmission for exceptional audio clarity. This design is designed for audio enthusiasts and offers exceptional sound quality for headphone users.
1707894315504.jpeg
1707894331578.jpeg

Of course, leaving aside all the marketing fluff, what is left for us is a soft, pliable cable, not at all embarrassing (but at the same time a must-have) for this price category, with an interesting and unusual color design, it’s a pity it’s not modular, but it’s just little Mars, yet not Jupiter.

Design, fit, use

There are no complaints about the exterior of the reviewed heroes, with all its aesthetic advantages of CNC-processed aluminum and the light-and-shadow play of of the dragon glass-plastic faceplates. The joints, quality and all the visual aesthetics can take you to organoleptic ecstasy if you are a fan of grayscale or the techno-Apocalypse horseman's (the T1000 android's) oil is coursing through your veins . The metal of the case itself can add a drop of interplanetary tar to this honey barrel in the case of cold-warm outdoor-indoor iem transmission: say hello to the condensation-otitis cocktail! (True, at least in winter audiophilis sapiens (?) still wear hats, I hope; it’s definitely safer with them).

There are no questions about the fit, everything is fine in my larger-than-average ears, Mars slightly exceed the dimensions of the average earthling’s head, providing a good balance between convenience, aesthetics and noise insulation even in Moscow subway cars of the last century... 2 compensation holes provide protection against channel vacuumization and slightly increase the sound panorama. Although with a deep planting, a small vacuum effect may come out of the shadows. But no driver flex or other unpleasant features! The weight of the earphone is comfortable to hold in the ears and pleasant to the touch; when you pick it up, you move the thing! Heavy, anatomical, pleasant in the ears.

Some more dry facts:

  • Driver: Dynamic, 10 mm
  • Sensitivity: 103 dB@1kHz
  • Frequency range: 10-20 kHz
  • Impedance: 32 Ohm ± 15%
  • Cable: - combined 4-core 28 cores made of enameled copper and 54 cores made of silver-plated copper, 3.5 mm
  • Interface - 2pin, 3.5 mm
Sound

Let's take a closer look at the sound at last!

Sources:
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (CS47l93) 3.5 mm output;
  • Corded DACs abigail (CX31993) 3.5 and 4.4 mm outputs;
  • Cayin N3pro player 4.4 mm output.
Listening was carried out using the stock 3.5 mm cable and TRI Clarion eartips, which, as for me, provide the lift on the right side of the range. The IEM are average for the build-up; using the smartphone they play with slight disruptions at the edges of the range at increased volume. Even with minimal USB DAC-whistles, they open up much more interesting.

photo_5357586147297055239_y.jpg

Lows

The sub is massive, booming, with a noticeable apparent infra-echo. The iem will carefully but clearly inform you who is the boss of the Mars. Sub-highlighted tracks
will release a lot of raw emotions. Midbass can be characterized by long decays, it is really layered, deep and warm. It pumps, but doesn’t nail it to the wall, in general there’s no shame in the lower range, it’s very driving in the lows, your legs are looking for the bass drum pedal, 5 stars! The blow is powerful, voluminous and strong. The contrabass and bass guitar are crisp and layered. But I like the sub better.

Midrange

The lower mids are perfectly articulated, dense, good and without deafness. A sort of thick, foamy stout with a nitrogen capsule, but the first things first. Excellent elaboration of low-sounding, full-bodied and powerful winds and cellos. The guitars growl, energetically, suitable for rock, but not loudly, as if a little muffled. However, this does not dampen the general mood. The leading guitars and drums attacks, despite the purely dynamic nature of the driver, are clearly pronounced and force you to be fully involved in the process. The transition from the bass is smooth, on poorly mixed recordings with a slight hum, but without much interference in the middle itself. The mids are slightly dimmed, but not pushed back; there could be more of them in quantity. In terms of vocal preferences, Mars iem are perfect for velvety voices like Joe Cocker, Chris Rea and the like. The female vocals also sound great, preferably taking into account the not very active and powerful accompanying arrangements; the Mylène Farmer's French or the Patricia Barber's jazz are excellent. Acoustic guitar and mid-high parts may not be exactly impressive, but they aren't dirty either. The detailing here is all right! But in general, the vocals are presented forward, the main instruments are further away, deeper into the stage.
The upper-middle frequencies are a little bright, the sibilant whistles are expressed above average, but on poorly prepared tracks it can a bit hurt your high-sense , so either a copper cable and narrow ear pads, or press FF to the next composition, I guess not your whole music library is digitized from the garage "rock-on-bones" at 128 Kbps?

Highs

In my opinion, the most difficult range to analyze. And this only gets worse with age. Highs are moderately detailed, with long decays, everything is on the shelf. In calm natural music, details are not lost much, neither quantitatively nor qualitatively, against the background of bass. However, in some high-speed genres, “mess” happens on the cymbals and percussion in particularly active parts. At the same time, for example, Tool's drums provide excellent details and an airy sound effect. Also, high drums sometimes smell a little like synthetics, more often on an active electronic stuff. But the musical character and slightly downward tonal balance make you forget about it. Lively, musically, here and now! "Shut up and dance!"

At the end of our little extraterrestrial walk

2cc41839d250ca2cfb757.jpg

Tinhifi T5s Mars are musical, engaging headphones for jazz, rock, electronics, almost universal, with excellent dynamic range, for layered rich male and intimate female vocals. They are also suitable for moderately fast styles of heavy rock and metal; the kick and attacks have excellent speed characteristics on the left side of the spectrum.

For lovers of classics, powerful electronic styles and overly loaded compositions, in my opinion, T5s is not a completely balanced solution, but "it has the right" - due to the general perky mood and active presentation. Live Martian open airs are exciting!

On board there is an excellent plan division and a well-readable separation on the scene with a middle depth. The stage is a horizontal ellipse in width, the air is here!
The sound is atmospheric, musical, the presentation is balanced, with a slight emphasis on the low frequencies, such a neat U-shape.
I haven't heard high-quality speakers for a long time. And why are all these est of yours needed?) So, marketing and R&D are not an empty phrase? The ears say yes, although the mind does not always believe and keep up with technology. The brand fully lives up to its literal name - tin high fidelity and precision.

photo_5354833721800382314_y.jpg

Best wishes to everyone!
Listen to the music, not the sound!
Remember that your head is not only for wearing a hat (especially in winter), but at least for ... wearing a good iem!
When discovering Mars in the sky and in the sound, do not forget about the Universe inside you!

Cheers!

Intro

I am familiar with Rose Technics only in absentia. I remember their mini models with several armature drivers. However, a lot of water has passed since then and now they have hybrids and dynamic ones in their lineup.

In general, I've been cold towards 1dd lately. Before QuietSea, it's been a long time since I've had a dynamic iem that I could really enjoy.

You can buy Rose Technics QuietSea at the official hifigo store.

Specifications

Transducer:1 dynamic 10mm driver

Connector: mmcx

Sensitivity: 99dB

Impedance: 32 ohms

It should be noted that with such values of impedance and sensitivity QuietSea are not demanding to the source.

Bundle

The earphones arrive in a large black box.
IMG_20231115_000637.jpg

There is a set of simple eartips, a special thing for snapping off mmcx connectors, a thick cable in a cloth braid.

IMG_20231115_000820.jpg

And a zippered case.
IMG_20231116_220224.jpg

Fit and ergonomics

The shells are relatively small, with no sharp corners or awkwardly placed design elements. The shells have a slightly cringe-worthy ellipse shape near the protective meshes.
IMG_20231116_215903.jpg

I didn't have any problems with the fit. The eartips hold on well. The large vents on the front of the shells do a great job of providing excellent ventilation. Because of these vents, the earphones have a semi-open construction, which has both pros and cons.
IMG_20231116_215852.jpg

On the plus side, I can mention the wide, spacious stage. The sound is uncluttered, voluminous. Also to the pluses can be attributed the fact that you can listen to your favorite music in iems without any discomfort even all day long. I have already tried this scenario.

To the minuses I can refer not the best noise isolation. On the street it was generally enough for me, but in the subway, for example, it was not enough.
IMG_20231116_220135.jpg

Sound
Screenshot_20231118_154331.jpg

Being oriented only on the graph, I would hardly buy this model. Too strong peaks on the upper midrange. However, in reality the sound pleasantly surprises.

Before describing the sound itself, it should be noted that the earphones respond very well to changing the cable and eartips. I went through a lot of options and eventually settled on a 4-core copper cable from xinhs and spinfit cp100 m. The cable added details, and the spinfits added lower treble making them even more interesting and clear. If you get this model, don't hesitate to try them with this cable and eartips.
IMG_20231116_215726.jpg

In general, it's very hard to describe the sound of earphones when they fit your target perfectly and do pretty much everything the way you want them to. I'm very impressed. However, I will try to abstract from personal tastes and describe the sound.

The sound setup is upbeat, dynamic, spacious, engaging.

Bass

Undoubtedly, the semi-open construction of the earphones does its magic here to the fullest. The bass is fast, whippy, but not lacking in body. On the contrary, it has a very good foundation, fullness. The emphasis here is on the side of the midbass, but there is no strong misalignment when listening to music. Besides the fact that the bass combines speed and fullness, it can be felt surrounding. The rhythm section is a pleasure to listen to. The drums are played just great. You can feel a savory clap with reverberations, not dry, not clamped, voluminous. The foot itself starts tapping to the beat of the music. Bass in the Simgot ea500 feels more clamped and limited in space. As if it plays only part of the range.

Midrange

First of all, it feels that the midange here is insulated from the bass side. But you can't call it very fat and weighty. It's more like a warm accent. It sounds organic and allows you to keep the separation of instruments without introducing additional muteness and softness. The details are surprisingly good. There is an accent on the upper midrange, but it is neat, however, for especially impressionable people there may be a little discomfort in some tracks. But overall it doesn't piercing. Simgot ea500 for example perceived more prickly, aggressive and intense.

High frequencies

Beautiful, clear. That's how you can describe them on first impression. The treble is simply wonderful. There is quite a lot of metal on the cymbals, shine, information. Usually with such epithets the HF should be tiring, however not in this case. Of course, if you are very sensitive to this range, you will have a lot of them, but for everyone else these are the earphones that can let you enjoy percussion. And with this amount of highs the earphones play well even poorly recorded recordings to my surprise. Apparently, the successfully prepared range of 5-8kHz and semi-open construction makes its presence felt. HF is successfully woven into the overall canvas, being on a level with the upper midrange.
IMG_20231116_220007.jpg

Conclusion

I have listened to a lot of different music from jazz to electro and I can't say that there are any genres that QuietSea do not play well. Maybe if you appreciate the deepest layers of bass and you need a strong pounding bass on electronics, then yes, this is not the best option. Otherwise, the earphones are versatile and will give you a lot of fun.

What surprised me most about these earphones were the separation of instruments, resolution, volume and beautiful treble. For 50 dollars, I just could not expect such a result from the 1 dynamic driver. For me, these are definitely one of the most successful iem in recent times.

I have known about CVJ company for quite a long time, but I have never listen to any of their models before. Besides, until recently CVJ models release had an infrequent chaotic character. And lately the manufacturer has been replenishing the lineup with enviable periodicity. And judging by the frequency graphs, the new models of this company (mei, kumo) represent a more complete product.

You can buy CVJ Freedom at the official hifigo store.

Fit and ergonomics

The Earphones' shells deserve only praise from me. Lightweight, comfortable, with very good ventilation not at the expense of noise isolation. I listened to these earphones for hours and did not feel any discomfort. I could well have continued listening to music for a longer period of time. Absolutely no strain on my ears. As a compomise, the earphones play outward more than usual.

On the back of the shells there are switches to change the sound. A tribute to fashion, you will say... And you'd be right - 4 sound settings, of which only 2 are working, and those are the same. We'll see it on the graphs a little further on.

Sound

Well, let's dive into the realm of switches and see how they effect the sound.
Screenshot_20231029_180320.jpg

As we can see on the graph, the changes concern only the upper frequency range. Variants 0-0 and 0-1 are identical. Variants 1-1 and 1-0 give a strong skew in the highs and are extremely unpleasant to listen to. That's why I will focus more on the only variant for me (0-0 / 0-1). If we talk about the graph, you may be confused by the peaks. But you should take into account that the frequency difference is only 6 dB. By the standards of this budget, you can call the iems relatively smooth.
IMG_20230924_110831_edit_584381288952960.jpg

Freedom offers a very comfortable analog presentation. Throughout the frequency range you can feel a slight softening, which removes unnecessary harshness, makes the sound warmer and more natural. Most of all this softening is felt in the bass. Bass becomes a bit funky, but because the sub bass is limited, it remains relatively fast. Overall, these earphones are not about the fast bass. However, due to the fact that there is no roll-of on lower mids and mids, the bass here is gorgeous in its own way. It gets a nice boost from the midrange. It is full-bodied, filling, voluminous, natural. It's not for lovers of rumbling. Here you just have to sit down, relax and enjoy. In general, this can be said for all other components of the sound of these iems.

The mids, as I said, are the main feauture. It's the highlight of Freedom. You can feel the body of the instruments, the resonances. All this creates a three-dimensional space in which you immerse yourself. Nothing is disturbed by any bursts or unnecessary accents. Everything is in its place and sounds very natural.

The upper mids continue the overall mood. They are served in a relaxed manner, without jams and rubber. Just comfort and relaxation. Some may find them insufficiently emotional and detailed, but I liked them.

Highs complement the overall picture, following in line with the upper mids. Quantitatively in some genres I would have liked more information and quality here. But they do not strain, they are well heard and they do not focus attention with some obvious joints. Unfortunately, you won't be able to fully enjoy the upper-frequency instruments here. It lacks resolution, detail, level. Therefore, to sit down and get into all the details of a track with a lot of percussion is not for this model.

Conclusion

I unexpectedly liked CVJ Freedom. First of all, for its gorgeous melodic analog midrange. For the overall comfortable full-bodied sound that makes you want to re-listen to your favorite tracks again. These earphones are like a warm analog cat that has climbed into your lap. And you can't kick it off as you're captivated by the comfortable purr.

The only thing is, I wouldn't try these earphones with warm or dark sources.

Comparisons

Tangzu Fudu
.

Screenshot_20231029_180401.jpg

The Fudu offers the listener a more dynamic, poppier sound with a noticeably roll-off midrange. The bass in the Fudu, although faster and sharper, loses a lot in naturalness and fullness.

The Freedom's midrange is more meety and here this model has absolute dominance. Very good midrange and better transition from the bass side makes Freedom is more mature and voluminous.

The upper mids in Fudu are more pronounced, more emotional and thin. Sometimes you can feel it digital.

I can't call that highs are reference in both models. Level-wise they are close, but in Freedom they do not draw attention to their faults so much and are perceived more organically.

New Head-Fier
Bassy Blonde
Pros: + comfort sound
+ good for pop and dance music
Cons: - too much bass
- weak resolution
- not enough treble energy

Intro

First time I tried Blon earphones when the chrestomathic budget model bl03 appeared. And at that time it was really a good sound for a relatively small amount of money, but the fit was a problem. Subsequent models were skipped by me. And now I have the purple dream on my hands... sorry, in my ears. Let's see if the JOJO took a lot from its ancestor.

You can purchase the Blon JOJO at the official Linsoul store.

Fit and ergonomics

Shells' shape has caused me doubts since the appearance of bl05. However, in practice the fit did not cause me any complaints. The shells are small and fit nicely into the ears without causing any discomfort. The length of the nozzles are also surprisingly enough.

There is no driver flex when inserted into the ears. Ventilation is at a good level without vacuum and additional pressure, noise isolation is good.

Sound

Screenshot_20231023_230505.jpg

JOJO offers the listener a sound with an emphasis on bass. The bass is voluminous, with slightly extended fades, quite massive. It does not cross that line when bass starts to press on the brain, but it feels dominant. Because of this, the lower register instruments in acoustic tracks are too bloated and a lot of information is lost behind them. So the bass guitar and drums take the main attention. But in pop music and electronics this type of bass is very useful. By the way and other frequencies are suitable for these genres.

Mids and treble are tuned very comfortably, I would even say excessively calm. They do not cause any irritation and unpleasant feelings. Resolution in these areas is mediocre and does not give in all its glory to feel the nuances of the recording. Highs do not let you hear recording flaws in the tracks, but the loss of detail is too much. At the same time, highs sound very distant, primarily due to the predominance of low frequencies.
IMG_20231007_210918.jpg

Conclusion

I can't call JOJO versatile earphones. You can listen any genre without fatigue but , for my taste, their tuning is well suited only for electronic and pop music. Only this niche and nothing more.

New Head-Fier
Hawaiian vibe
Pros: + comfort inoffensive tuning
+ mellow sound
+ easy to listen
+ genre versatility
Cons: - lack of details
- artificial, unnatural highs
- low resolution, softened bass
IMG_20231007_144635-01.jpeg

Intro

The model was created with the participation of famous blogger Hawaiian bad boy. This is not Tripowin's first collaboration with a HBB. Before that, I had a chance to listen to the mele, olina, olina se. And none of them satisfied me in terms of tuning. Well, let's see what the new attempt promises us. Did the stick shoot this time?

You can buy Tripowin Kailua at the official Linsoul store.

The earphones' package is rather poor. A small box, a bag with two kinds of
silicone tips and a cable.
The cable is quite pleasant, it didn't cause any negative emotions for me.

Fit and Ergonomics

IMG_20231007_210400.jpg

Kailua' shells make a positive impression. They are made of metal and well-built.

The earphones have nozzles close to the connectors and at an acute angle. In fact, you have to struggle with the iems, as they tend to get caught in the tragus and press on it. However, after putting them in your ears and choosing a comfortable angle, they do not cause any problems and are generally even comfortable. The only thing is that I managed to get good noise isolation only with long-legged L-size eartips.

IMG_20231007_210229.jpg

There are no problems with ventilation. The earphones are not vacuumed, do not have a driver flex when inserted into the ears and allow you to listen to music for a long time without fatigue. Noise isolation is at a good level.

Sound
Screenshot_20231010_184213.jpg

As you can see on the graph, the tonal tuning is balanced. There are no strong distortions in frequency ranges. Only a strong peak after 10kHz is disconcerting. In practice, alas, it also appears as artificial timbre. Throughout the whole frequency range I feel softening and lack of details.

IMG_20231007_211102.jpg

Bass

Bass is not overloaded, it knows its place. It does not abound in details and elasticity, but plays more in volume. It does not stand out for its briskness, but it is not rubbery either. It sounds quite organic, comfortable and versatile. Resolution is weak, textures are limited.

Midrange

The midrange is a bit of a throwback. I wouldn't say there's a very critical descent, but it's not full-body either. It's kind of middle-of-the-road. Upper mids are not shrilling and not cutting. Everything is tuned for cozy pastime.

Highs

Frankly speaking, I hoped that the driver for the highs would try and at least do it organically like dynamic driver can. However, in reality, the treble sounds as if it is played with a slightly dampened inexpensive armature. As soon as in the track there is an abundance of various percussion, hopes are finally shattered by unnaturalness, rustling and thin sounding. Again, the treble are not tiring, but it's a challenge to enjoy it.

Conclusion
IMG_20231007_210736.jpg

This is probably the first model of the collaboration I've listened to that is beyond reproach in terms of tonal tuning. All the frequencies are good derived and there are no major chunks that stick out. The tuning is comfortable, allowing for long periods of unfocused listening. Which, in fact, is good feature. Kailua is a relaxing comfortable iems, in which you can listen to any music in the background, without the request for audiophile madness and with strong sacrifices in the highs.
