Would have loved to try the od200. Have heard rave reviews about all their 3 iems they launched recently

I do appreciate you taking the time to review our product, whether it is supportive or critical. We are aware of product quality issues that may develop, whether at the factory of manufacture, or during transport and storage before and during sale (e.g. extreme temperatures in transport and storage, a growing concern in this day and age, can damage products that were pristine out of the factory), and are always working to maximize reliability in every way we can.

@Joe Bloggs I am well aware of various technical scenarios, I'm an Electrical Engineer with credentialed work and projects. My review is ample enough to translate to do not purchase, I have several friends and met various users who report similar issues. I simply cannot recommend something I've had a bad experience with, would you? We live in a society where convenience is at the forefront. I refuse to buy another unit that may have inconvenience my day, by having to ship it back UPS, whether if I got a refund or not. I have better usage of time, and that is investing/researching into another product that better fits the bill.

Secondly, I have nothing against Hiby, I've heard nothing but good in relation to products offered. It seems to be a brand with good technical expertise, and various recognition with different items. Whether I am sounding critical, too harsh, blunt, upfront, may be deemed by the opinion of X user reading my review. Thanks for responding, and giving your just reasoning of the words I've listed. I just ask this product checks all the boxes before being pushed and marketed to the consumer market. I understand forces that aren't as controllable, but I wish this product success.

Hi, thank you for the review and comparisons! Fiio ka11 vs F.Audio KS01 which one do you recommend as entry level DAC? Best technicalities?
Thank you!
Kindlefirehditaly
Kindlefirehditaly
@sistoz Excellent question! They are both extremely interesting. In my opinion the FiiO KA11 is superior in terms of sound quality, slightly less brilliant but in terms of soundstage and detail it surpasses it. We also consider that the FiiO KA11 has a strong brand behind it, app support and software updates. The KS01 is absolutely intriguing given the price and display. Pay attention to quality control, I heard that some users had problems.

Pros: Great build quality
Quite good isolation
Extra-trippy packaging
Great stock accessories
Many nice, quality tips
Note Thickness

Cons: Worst Comfort Fit due to extreme design and short nozzle (really bad fit)
Red nozzle sounds a little bit out of tone but adds trebles and soundstage
Price is high

Member of the Trade: JM Audio Editions/Headphone Modifications
Pros: State of the art build, state of the art parts, amazing clarity and definition, bass mids and highs all sound natural and organic, more like a SET or OTL lushness and sweetness than solid state, Real 100% authentic genuine Class A design, the most unique amp I ever used in my life, comes with an incredible carry case I never thought possible in consumer products, dead silent - no hiss no noise even when maxed out volume and with the most sensitive headphones, the winner for all amps I ever tested no noise! A true collectors item- collectors item as there are less than 50 units ever produced, bass is and mids are sublime like the best SET amps combined with the best of solid state - truly a remarkable amp that give you real class A experience like no other amp I ever heard
Cons: may not the last word in extreme details or 3d imaging I get from my Ray Saumels w/ Sparkos ss2590 but then again I haven't found ANY amp that bests it in that regard, anodized black body turned purple from heat, ah yea did I mention the heat? it gets hot but then again if you want a REAL Class A amp this is what you get

It has the story, the expensive materials, but can it drive a Susvara well? The Susvara became the standard for hi-fi headphones and from which many amplifiers are judged by.

It has no balance input. Just RCA? This is so old skool.

yes sir it is old school Krell like pure class A high voltage pure power that likely can drive anything but the most demanding - its not the power but the sound of pure real class A

Ace Bee

Headphoneus Supremus

500+ Head-Fier
Pros: ● Solidly built shell chassis with elegant looking deep blue hue as its overall colour scheme.
● It still retained that magatama-like design form as the original Falcon-C gives me one of the most comfortable fitting and excellent passive noise isolation in an all-metal shell chassis IEM.
● Detachable tuning nozzles for tuning versatility
● Good quality stock cable as it also has a modular termination plug feature.
● Well, since this is a DUNU product, expect a quantifying amount of inclusions.
● Too many types of ear tips to choose from
● A large carrying case with toughened canvas fabric for better storage and protection of the IEMs.
● Two types of tonality to choose from based on our preferred target tuning curve.
● Punchy and quite visceral bass response (Gold nozzles)
● Warm, well-balanced texture and natural sounding midrange (Gold nozzles)
● Clear, transparent and energetic sound on midrange (Blue nozzles)
● Excellent on male vocals, percussives and brass instruments (Gold nozzles)
● Splendid clarity and detail on female vocals, strings and woodwinds (Blue nozzles)
● Smooth and inoffensive tuning on treble response (Gold nozzles)
● Bright, shimmering and airy treble response (Blue nozzles)
● Majority of its technical capabilities are quite commendable for a single dynamic driver set.
Cons: ● Its mirror-finished surface is quite a fingerprint magnet and prone to light scratches.
● Noticeably recessed midrange on blue nozzle mode.
● Instances of shrilly, piercing and slight sibilance on the blue nozzle mode.
● The treble response on the gold nozzle will be most likely less appealing to adherent treble-heads.
● Wishing for a wider sound/speaker stage.

Fantastic review, I was about to buy anyway based solely on the astounding rated output for my high impedance and hard to drive IEMs (MagicOne, Campfire Satsuma, Tipsy), but this helped a lot. Warm regards and again, sincere thanks 😊

baskingshark

Headphoneus Supremus
Pros: Lilliputian profile, very portable and small
Solid build
Huge power for such a tiny dongle at 200 mW at 32 Ω
Warmish tone, good synergy with harsh or edgier transducers
Low output impedance - pairs well with fussy IEMs
No hiss/EMI
No pop sound when removing transducers
Compatible with Fiio Control app to unlock DAC filters and other settings
Has UAC 1.0 mode for gaming devices
Excellent price-to-performance ratio
Cons: No volume controller
Only 3.5 mm (single-ended) termination available
Cable is not detachable
Gets a bit warm, with some battery drain with more demanding transducers
No PEQ available on the app

I ordered it thinking it has a neutral sound signature (I own Etymotic ER2SE iem which is known for its neutral sound and this is what I prefer)
should I cancel my order if it will affect the neutrality of my iem?

500+ Head-Fier
Pros: ● A budget-friendly pricing for budget-conscious casual listeners.
● Its overall design and form factor appears to follow modern aesthetics.
● Decent build quality
● Touch sensitive gestures for basic commands.
● Better software support from TANCHJIM App.
● Excellent playback endurance.
● ANC and Transparency modes.
● Follows a popular trend of tuning, a modified Harman-style.
● Clean and precise bass response.
● Crisp, transparent and clear midrange quality.

Cons: ● Lack of support for advanced bluetooth audio codec.
● Transparency mode and ANC seems unexceptional in its intended performance.
● Most of its technical performance is rather mediocre.
● Recessed midrange.
● Its treble quality will be less appealing to most trebleheads.
