Effect Audio cables thread

it's really hard to main other cables after Eros S 😂

🤣 I know what you mean!

Is there any <$1000 cables from EA to step up from Eros S? Don't wanna spend multi-K on the cables as I don't have >1,5K IEMs.

I haven't tried it yet, but I think the Fusion 1 might be the closest one for under $1k?

I really like my Eros S 1st Anniversary, it's really hard to main other cables after Eros S 😂

Sadly the earguide kinda fatiguing for me (only on my left ear tho) since first time using it. I like the style of Code variants, but none having similar spec like Eros S.

It'll be mainly for Singularity & MKIII.

Hey @attafwrd

The Eros S looks great with the MkIII :)

You can consider our Cleopatra II. It's going at USD1,019.15 with our on-going 15th Anniversary promotion :)

I just wanted to update you on how it went with the warranty repair of the Ares S 8w which had the right ConX pin returned. The shipment cost 45 euros (and so far nothing to say) it took more than a month for the repair and as the return approached I was told that the costs were entirely my responsibility, another 20 euros (I knew that if the defect is ascertained under warranty at least the reshipment is done by the company but the opposite is written in the Effect Audio warranty policy). The icing on the cake is represented by the fact that the returned cable was declared as goods to be sold and not as a return under warranty so I had to pay another 35 euros in customs. All this for a poorly made cable (ConX), returned under warranty and for which Effect Audio did not pay a single cent during the entire procedure that I remember concerning a defective cable under warranty. Everyone draws their own conclusions. Total spent 100 euros.

Same story and costs on my behalf. Only difference: it happened on the left ConX pin of my Fusion 1.

So we had identical problems on two different items with both issues happening after just a few months of regular use. It seems as if EA has some qc issues with the ConX termination.

@Polky74 and I had a chat about all this - him being even more annoyed and frustrated than I was. In the end we agreed, that buying from EA directly is not the best option, when living in the EU and as long as EA

1. are not able to declare warrenty cases in a way that at least avoids unnecessary taxes and handling fees and

2. excludes/refuses to take any shipment costs for defect items under warranty.

To be honest: in my book this kind of customer service - though written down in their warranty policy - does not match the premium that EA claims for themselves as a brand and is reflected in their pricing...

Ymmv etc...

Edit:
@Polky74 just informed me that our chat Mid-April had an epilogue I did not know of yet. He contacted EA directly and received an answer that I would consider fair, which sheds a better light on EA's customer service (at least in case you reach out to them). Hopefully they will also change their warranty policy in the future....

 Actually, no, this doesn't sound that great... ugh, the plot thickens.

So my initial listening was done with EA's Lightning (C100) Term-X terminator. The combination of the Code 24C and THAT terminator was pretty fun. Sibilant at times, but there was a pleasing mid-bass lift that helped to make it very enjoyable.

Switching over to my Mojo2Poly, that mid-bass dissipated, and now it's pretty darned thin. That said, the Code 24C is an improvement over the stock cable, as it offer at least some amount of body in the bass, along with better refinement throughout the midrange.

The stock cable is just, ugh, it's not a good listen for me.

Has anyone here converted their cable to ConX and noticed if there was change in sound? Or better, tested conx vs non conx side by side. There are some theories and manufacturer claims but I'm looking for actual test done.

I know for certain that TermX has noticeable slight degrade in sound quality. I have tested TermX and non TermX in person (Cleo II Octa) with another guy blind testing and confirming.

I haven't been able to test that, as I don't have the same cable pre and post Con-X.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!! :)

To honour all of our incredible mothers, here's 3 stories shared by fellow audiophiles on how music has influenced their relationships with their mothers!
"Music has been a staple in my mother's life; she plays the radio daily while working. My childhood was filled with the sounds of vinyl records she played—Disney classics and Brazilian Popular Music (MPB). This tradition continued with CDs, influencing my habit of integrating music into my daily routine, a passion undoubtedly sparked by my mother."
- Vitor Valeri

"Initially, my mother wasn't fond of music. However, after my father's passing, she often found herself alone at home. I encouraged her to listen to music to alleviate her loneliness. Now, we enjoy listening to metal music together, sharing moments that bridge our worlds."
- Md. Rohit

"My mother and I rarely shared musical tastes. One time, she insisted I sing as I used to in my childhood, but I couldn't, leading me to resent music for years. Eventually, I rediscovered my love for music, finding that some songs I enjoyed were also to her liking. Now, even if it's just a few, it's special that she can enjoy the music I play during our car rides."
- Ricci Rafaelius

Okay, so it turns out that these things exist: https://www.amazon.com/JH-Earphone-Adaptor-Connected-Transparent/dp/B09NNCXH1M. Not ideal, but that might be a reasonable way test any changes?
May have to try them out for my JH Lola's

@NovaFlyer, don't get these adapters, they sound like ass. Basically, the low end rolls off like crazy: upper bass is still there, but mid-bass is greatly diminished, and sub-bass is non-existent. If I had to describe it... it's like turning down the attenuators on the stock cable to -4.

Definitely not a good thing. Thanks for the info on these! :beerchug:

Which EA cable have the best value to sound performance for warmer sound? I thought 24c is one of the best for it(due to its limited production).
